LinkedIn is making a few changes! If you post original content on LinkedIn, these updates might be of interest to you.
Effective October 23, 2014, the LinkedIn User Agreement and Privacy Policy will change. If you love reading long user agreements, legal language and policies as much as I do, feel free to don a party hat, pour yourself your favorite cocktail and read to your heart’s content! Otherwise, look below for a few highlights, taken directly from our friends at LinkedIn:
You can find a preview of the updated User Agreement here.
The video below also does a great job of clearly and succinctly explaining the changes to the User Agreement.
In addition to the updated User Agreement, LinkedIn has simplified and changed aspects of their Privacy Policy, following their acquisition of the B2B Marketing company, Bizo. This acquisition relates to how LinkedIn is gathering information to deliver you targeted ads. And, of course, you can always update your preferences on targeted ads by doing the following:
LinkedIn profile —> Account & Settings (hover over your picture in the top, right-hand corner) —> Privacy & Settings —> Select Account tab (lower left-hand side of screen) —> Manage Advertising Preferences
A preview of the new Privacy Policy can be found here. Check out the video below for an overview of these changes.
So, go forth! Create content. Update your privacy settings. Or don’t. The LinkedIn world is your oyster.
