Last Fall, we showed you how LinkedIn has added a feature that shows you how you are showing up in LinkedIn searches. LinkedIn Search Appearances has made it easier to see how your network is interacting with your profile.
If you’ve ever wondered if your Profile shows up in searches launched by other LinkedIn members, then take a moment to revisit LinkedIn Search Appearances to learn more.
On your Profile, find your Dashboard under your Summary. The Search Appearances link is the selection on the right.
After clicking on this selection, you will be taken to a new page where you can view specific details about your Profile Search Appearances. LinkedIn tells you how many times your Profile has appeared in seach results between a given time period. The also share with you where your searchers work.
You are also able to view the titles and professions of these searchers. As you can see from the infromation below, the majority of the people that found my Profile in their searches were salespeople.
And perhaps the most informative piece of the search details, is one that LinkedIn added somewhat recently: Keywords your searchers used. This lets you know if your Profile is truly keyword optimized and receiving the right kind of attention.
This information is invaluable for salespeople, job seekers, business owners and anyone else who has the goal of attracting more visitors to their Profile. Check in often, study this information and use it wisely to tweak and better optimize your Profile content.
