As Intero reaches it’s 10 year anniversary, some of Intero’s team members are sharing their most memorable moments on how the business came to be the leader in LinkedIn branding, sales, and recruiting enablement over the past 10 years.

Ten years ago, I was a freshman in high school when my mom came home from work and told us she had been let go. As an inherent worrywart, I was stressed, but I knew whatever was next for her would be on her own terms.

In the coming weeks, Intero Advisory was born, and although no one from the family was officially on the payroll yet, it was a family business. I would come home from school and look at the logos, colors, and company names that Colleen had come up with that day (never forget when Intero was green!). My dad would drop off lunch to her “Lunch and Learns”, and I spent hours packing the goodie bags. We toured office spaces after school, painted the office, and built the furniture. It was all hands on deck, helping in any way we could. It was an amazing process to be a part of. I watched Intero grow from the ground up, and every day I saw the determination and perseverance it took. To this day, I feel honored to get to work here.

When I went to college, Colleen would call me regularly to discuss Intero. We joked that I was her unofficial business advisor. I worked over breaks and while at school. Upon graduation, I accepted a full-time role and had to start calling my mom “Colleen” during work hours.

Ten years later, Intero is family-owned, but we are not only family. We have awesome, high-contributing colleagues who understand the vision and work hard towards it every day. I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else.

Colleen has created a company that she would want to work for, and for ten years has remained committed to her employees, her clients, her work, and her integrity.

I still build furniture, run out and get everyone lunch, call my dad to drop off water —and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
